Through the acquisition of RPM, our team developed the bikeways portion of the city of Murfreesboro’s efforts to develop a Greenways, Blueways and Bikeways Plan.
The city wished to make use of its natural, cultural and historical resources by developing open space corridors that would serve ecological, educational, recreational and transportation purposes for the residents and visitors of the community. The goal was to connect community destinations such as parks, commercial areas, neighborhoods, Middle Tennessee State University, and the Stones River Battlefield.
The master plan outlines alternative transportation improvements over the next 25 years and includes recommendations for more than 67 miles of greenway, 24 trailheads and over 100 miles of bicycle facilities along with cost estimates and prioritization. The planning team worked with an advisory committee of city officials and facilitated public meetings to solicit input regarding where greenways, blueways and bikeway connections are needed.
