KCI developed plan specifications and estimates for the design of a new northbound frontage road and a new diverging diamond interchange along I-35 in Austin, Texas.
Our team redesigned the existing intersection to the new and innovative design that addresses congestion by allowing left-turn lane traffic to flow through the intersection. KCI was responsible for reviewing project design criteria and deliverables, verifying quality and adherence to design standards, and verifying compliance with State policies and procedures. Preliminary design tasks included route/design studies, geotechnical investigation and foundation studies, social, economic, and environmental studies, collection of ROW and utility data, and design and construction surveys.
