Every year, Historic Annapolis, an organization that works to save and preserve the architectural legacy of Maryland’s capital, celebrates outstanding projects that uphold the city’s historic character. Annapolis Elementary School was awarded the organization’s 2014 Preservation Award for the superlative work and special sensitivity given to the building’s historic preservation during a comprehensive renovation.
Constructed in 1895, the Annapolis Elementary School is the oldest continually used public school in Maryland. The project involved a complete revitalization of the school and an adjacent building to increase student capacity. KCI provided site/civil engineering, landscape architecture, surveying and construction administration services for this historic renovation.
