KCI is a leader in 3D design, a technology that continues to make highway design more efficient and help our clients reduce the lifecycle costs of their projects. The firm is pleased to welcome Cyrus G. McCall, PE, who will lead our 3D modeling and design visualization efforts for the Transportation Market. He will establish workflows and workspaces, setup projects, and train designers for Bentley software, including MicroStation, OpenRoads, Descartes, LumenRT and ConcepStation, as well as spearhead visualization production efforts for high priority presentations.
Cyrus brings a unique combination of practical highway design expertise, software knowledge, training experience, problem-solving, and project leadership to the KCI team. Throughout his 22-year career, Cyrus has used his extensive skillset to improve operational efficiency at every level. His experience includes researching and implementing new CADD tools, creating renderings and models for project visualization, and training design teams.
Under Cyrus’s leadership and guidance, KCI will continue to focus on early adoption of OpenRoads in every state and expand our recognized survey, LiDAR and modeling capabilities to encompass all aspects of visualization. He will provide training and production support that ensures KCI will continue to meet and exceed our clients’ expectations and adhere to detailed published standards by using 3D modeling effectively for design and communication.

Cyrus earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Cornell University and his master’s from the University of Maryland. While at Maryland State Highway Administration, he pioneered the implementation of 3D modeling and visualization for transportation projects. As a consultant, he performed transportation engineering on all types of projects ranging from widenings to interchanges and provided engineering support in planning, design and construction phases. Cyrus has implemented 3D models for planning alternatives analyses, noise studies, stream restoration and stormwater management facilities. He also led teams that created visualizations for high profile projects.
