The American Council of Engineering Companies of South Carolina recognized two KCI projects at their annual awards banquet. The US 176 bridge over the Broad River won an engineering excellence award in the structural systems category and the Federal Aid Bridge Replacements, Package C won a state finalist award in the transportation category.
KCI was the prime consultant for this value engineering project. Our team was responsible for project management, structural design, and pedestrian pathway design. KCI provided guidance and coordination of geotechnical and hydraulic engineers throughout the design process.
KCI was the lead engineer for Team United on the Federal Aid Bridge Replacements, Package C design-build project, which consisted of seven bridges located in Lancaster, Laurens, Union and York Counties. The firm was responsible for design project management, structural design, and construction inspection services. KCI provided guidance and coordination for roadway, geotechnical and hydraulic sub-consultants, in addition to utility relocation throughout the design process.
