Construction Management for Annapolis Public Works Facility

The City of Annapolis sought to consolidate its outdated public works yards and offices into a single, efficient facility.

The project included constructing a two-story mixed office and fleet maintenance building, a vehicle storage building, a salt barn, and comprehensive site work. Leveraging our recent experience with a similar project, KCI promptly addressed the City’s questions and concerns. Our team was chosen to provide owner representation services and oversee construction management and inspection for this design-build project.

Located on a 6.9-acre site within critical watersheds, the new headquarters prioritized environmental sustainability, aiming for LEED certification. The project design featured robust stormwater management, incorporating best practices such as pervious pavement and sand filters, and included a vegetative green roof and EV parking. Drones were used to document progress, with images posted on the City’s website, and provided valuable insights, including disproving a claim of sediment discharge into a critical watershed. Upon completion, the state-of-the-art campus met LEED Silver certification and exceeded industry standards.
