Charbel Khoury is a practice leader for geotechnical engineering services, focused in the Mid-Atlantic region. He is responsible for technical oversight of subsurface exploration, analysis and foundation design efforts. During his two-decade-long career, Charbel’s experience has included geotechnical, geo-technology and pavement engineering applications for both private- and public-sector clients. He has worked on challenging projects nationwide in the transportation, residential, commercial, and education markets and provided project management, coordination and quality control for geo-material studies, non-destructive and geophysical techniques, subsurface exploration, analyses, and designs of geo-structures.
Charbel holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Lebanese American University and master’s and doctorate degrees in civil engineering from the University of Oklahoma. He is a registered professional engineer in Maryland, Virginia and New Jersey and is a certified temporary traffic control manager. More than a dozen of Charbel’s articles and papers have been published in major geotechnical and pavement journals, and he is a peer reviewer on multiple technical journals. He is involved in several professional organizations including the Transportation Research Board, the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Deep Foundation Institute.
