Charbel Khoury is a practice leader for geotechnical engineering services, focused in the Mid-Atlantic region. He is experienced and responsible for technical oversight of geotechnical, geo-technology and pavement engineering for both private- and public-sector clients. During his two-decade-long career, Charbel’s experience has included challenging projects nationwide in the transportation, residential, commercial, telecommunications, site development, and education markets. He has been providing project management, coordination and quality control for geo-material studies, non-destructive and geophysical techniques, subsurface exploration, forensic investigations, analyses and designs of geo-structures, and pavement and asset management. Charbel brings a wide range of multidisciplinary experience from various research studies and nationwide projects.
Charbel holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Lebanese American University and master’s and doctorate degrees in civil engineering from the University of Oklahoma. He is a registered professional engineer in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Texas, Georgia and New Jersey and is a certified temporary traffic control manager. More than a dozen of Charbel’s articles and papers have been published in major geotechnical and pavement journals, and he is a peer reviewer on multiple technical publications. He is involved in several professional organizations including the Transportation Research Board, the American Society of Civil Engineers and the ASCE Geo-Institute.
