KCI is pleased to announce that the 2025 Sons and Daughters Scholarship Program has awarded scholarships to 10 students.
The annual program offers children of KCI employees the opportunity to receive $4,000 to put towards the cost of their education.
The 10 awardees were selected from 77 applicants companywide. The selection criteria included academic achievement, leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors and accolades, work experience, and educational and career goals.
Congratulations to the recipients of this year’s scholarships:

Riley Busch, daughter of Mike Busch
Attending the University of Alabama, Riley is majoring in kinesiology and minoring in biology and athletic training. Now in her senior year, she has spent time exploring possible post-graduate career paths by working in two different physical and occupational therapy clinics – one sports-based and one orthopedic – as well as shadowing numerous medical professionals across various branches of healthcare. After graduation, Riley aspires to be a physician assistant specializing in either cardiology, orthopedics, sports medicine, or surgery.

Sabrina Chinnock, daughter of Thomas Chinnock
Entering her sophomore year, Sabrina is majoring in early childhood education at Rowan University with a focus in literacy studies and reading endorsement. She has already completed eight weeks of field placement with a local elementary school where she taught in both kindergarten and third grade classrooms. During her time at Rowan, Sabrina intends to become certified to teach pre-k through 6th grade and join the International Education Honor Society. Following her graduation, she wants to continue her studies by earning a master’s degree.

Brooke Cutler, daughter of Jill Cutler
A sophomore at the University of New Haven, Brooke is majoring in paramedicine and minoring in fire science. Growing up, she learned she enjoyed fast-paced environments and began aspiring to a future career in healthcare. Volunteering and working as an EMT at local fire stations helped Brooke discover her interest in firefighting, prompting her to add the subject to her collegiate education. After graduation, she plans to become a firefighter and paramedic so that she can give back to communities as a first responder. She also hopes to become a trainer for search and rescue dogs.

Adam Hudacek, son of John Hudacek
Now in his senior year at the University of Maryland, Adam is earning his bachelor’s degree in journalism. Over the previous summer, he completed an internship with CBS News where he covered national politics. Adam is slated to graduate a semester early, after which he hopes to continue working in political journalism with a major print publication in the capitol region.

Oliver Lucas, son of Shannon Lucas
Oliver, who is entering his freshman year at the University of Maryland, will be pursuing his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering. After graduation, he wants to obtain a job in cybersecurity or computer engineering. Additionally, he hopes to continue his education by earning certifications relevant to his career and interests.

Jackson Martinez, son of Jose Martinez
Jackson plans to major in civil engineering as he enters his freshman year at North Carolina State University. This summer, he attended the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Construction Camp as a logistics officer volunteer where he supported younger students interested in the field. After graduation, Jackson aspires to follow in his father’s footsteps, joining a civil engineering and surveying practice where he can contribute to meaningful projects and help build a better world.

Alexa Masaoy, daughter of Aurelius Masaoy
An incoming freshman at Kean University, Alexa is double majoring in English and education. After graduation, she hopes to become a teacher who inspires, empowers, and adequately prepares the future generation to thrive both inside and outside of the classroom. Alexa’s long-term goal is to make a lasting, positive impact on the community around her through education.

Zachary Reeves, son of Brent Reeves
As he enters his freshman year at the University of Oregon, Zachary will be working toward his bachelor’s degree in accounting. Additionally, he plans to explore his interest in topics outside of his major, including finance and business management. During his senior year of high school, Zachary participated in an internship with a local accounting firm where he had the opportunity to put the basics of accounting into practice firsthand. Looking ahead, he hopes to obtain a career working for a large, city-based firm with a fast-paced environment and ample opportunity for professional development.

Aubrey Shumpert, son of Mark Shumpert
A junior at the University of South Carolina, Aubrey is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on environmental engineering. Upon earning his degree, he plans to pursue a career as an environmental consultant and hopes to leverage his education to help make the world a safer, healthier place for everyone.

Kaitlyn Snyder, daughter of Matthew Snyder
Kaitlyn will be pursuing her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering as a freshman at the University of Maryland. Exploring her interests through extracurricular activities, she spent the past summer volunteering at the Discovery Center at Water’s Edge where she helped run chemistry and engineering summer camps for elementary and middle school students. After graduating, Kaitlyn hopes to begin her career in engineering while furthering her education by earning an MBA.
