Shawn Davis Joins KCI as Highway Practice Leader in South Carolina

KCI welcomes Shawn Davis, PE, as highway practice leader in South Carolina. He will oversee all roadway design efforts in the state and support other regional KCI offices throughout the Southeast. His goal will be to expand KCI’s highway design capabilities in South Carolina and support design-build pursuits and delivery throughout the firm’s nationwide footprint.

Shawn’s technical expertise includes all aspects of planning, design and management for roadway and transit improvements. During his 27-year career, he has served as project manager, lead design engineer and engineer-of-record for dozens of transportation projects, including design-build contracts valued at more than $500 million.

KCI is recognized as a leading highway infrastructure design firm in the Southeast, and Shawn will be integral to the continued growth of the business. The combination of his expertise and relationships and our established reputation and capabilities will help the firm continue to expand our transportation planning and design capabilities throughout South Carolina and beyond.

His pursuit, post award delivery and project management experience includes nationally recognized design-build and P3 contracts including the I-85 widening project in Gwinnett, Jackson, and Barrow Counties, Georgia; the Gateway Expressway (I-275 South of Gandy Boulevard to North of 4th Street North) in Pinellas County, Florida; the 16-mile-long Purple Line Light Rail Transit project in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties, Maryland; and the I-285/GA 400 interchange reconstruction in Fulton and DeKalb Counties, Georgia. In South Carolina, he has served as pursuit manager for the I-20 widening design-build in Lexington County, and engineer of record for the U.S. 17 Ace Basin Parkway design-build in Beaufort County and the Conway Bypass (SC-22) design-build in Horry County.

Shawn holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina. He is a registered professional engineer in 10 states.
