KCI supported the development of Columbia Crescent, a 22-acre mixed-use neighborhood in Downtown Columbia that is transforming a former surface parking area into a vibrant, walkable community.
Planned as a self-sustaining live-work-play destination, the development features residential, office, retail, hospitality, and public spaces designed to strengthen connections between the Merriweather District and surrounding amenities. KCI provided civil and environmental engineering and surveying services throughout the project’s planning, design, and construction. Our team oversaw the design and coordination of critical site infrastructure, guided permitting efforts, and prepared comprehensive site layout plans for roadway, storm drain, stormwater management, water, sewer, and dry utility systems. Services also included sediment and erosion control design, environmental permitting and regulatory compliance, topographic surveying, construction stakeout, and construction-phase support through project closeout.
By delivering these services under one roof, KCI streamlined coordination across multiple disciplines, helping advance a complex urban redevelopment project that supports Downtown Columbia’s continued growth while creating an efficient, pedestrian-oriented environment for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
