To enhance their award-winning Main Street, the Town of Sykesville enlisted KCI to strengthen and preserve its downtown area’s character, history, and vibrancy.
With a focus on reinvesting in the town’s thriving Mainstreet, our team provided a preliminary vision for several improvement projects, including the enhancement of streetscapes, parking, and public open spaces to improve walkability while creating more outdoor gathering areas for public events. Using innovative tools like 3D models and rendering software, we showcased the town’s existing conditions and demonstrated potential transformations.
After closely collaborating with the Town Manager and mayor to select site furnishings, paving materials, and historically accurate design themes, KCI provided land planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, and survey services to produce base plans, design development and construction documents. The successful completion of these initiatives supports sustainable improvements to the town while significantly improving the quality of life for all its citizens. The new and improved open spaces throughout the downtown core will serve as focal points for the town’s many events.
