KCI was contracted to provide comprehensive program management and construction management services for the development of West Chester University’s new Science Engineering Center and Commons (SECC) facility.
The new SECC building is a three-story, 180,000-square-foot home for the health science, physics and biomedical engineering programs with advanced laboratories and modern learning spaces. Creating a dynamic living-learning environment, the building includes conference facilities and dining areas where students can gather, collaborate, and enjoy healthy meals together.
The project is the single largest building project to date in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. KCI’s program management team provided constructability review, cost estimating, schedule oversight, and risk management while our full-time on-site construction manager was responsible for day-to-day management and inspection. Through expert administration of these services, our team successfully identified several areas of improvement within the project, suggesting innovative solutions which resulted in the cost savings of thousands of dollars.
