The Oakwood Road – Old Mill Boulevard Roundabout Project was recently recognized with a Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Baltimore Chapter Achievement Award for Excellence in Construction.
The award, presented in the Transportation: Construction Value Less Than $5 Million category, honors smaller-scale transportation construction initiatives within the Baltimore region that exemplify creativity and innovation while contributing to the vitality of the area. The honor was awarded to the project team at the 17th annual CMAA Baltimore Chapter Project Achievement Award Ceremony. Kyle Elliott and Andrew Kucharek were present to accept the award on the firm’s behalf.
To enhance multimodal connectivity, KCI delivered a transportation improvement project that included full-depth pavement construction for a roundabout and its approaches, a four-way fully signalized intersection providing access to the newly constructed Old Mill Middle School, and a 10-foot-wide shared-use path. Throughout design and construction, our team led constructability reviews, coordinated closely with project stakeholders and utility providers, and worked collaboratively with the contractor to identify and resolve challenges early, supporting efficient project delivery and improved safety and connectivity for the surrounding community.
