Parlier to Lead Power Group in the Carolinas

KCI is excited to welcome Seth Parlier, JD, PE, to the firm as regional practice leader for power in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Parlier brings a wealth of utility experience in power distribution engineering, operations, and leadership. He will lead the management of all distribution business operations across North and South Carolina, including system planning, emergency restoration support, distribution design for asset upgrades and replacements, residential development, lighting, GIS and highway utility relocations.

Parlier recently joined the firm after completing a 15-year tenure with Duke Energy, an electric power and natural gas utility provider, where he served in successional roles of increasing responsibility. In his most recent role as Director of Customer Delivery Operations, he oversaw a territory that served 140 thousand customers, was responsible for an annual capital budget of $70 million, and acted as an area incident commander during local power outage events. Throughout his time at Duke Energy, his duties included performing damage assessment, managing a team of GIS model technicians, coordinating the repair and rehabilitation of thousands of streetlights, and managing the design and construction of a variety of major distribution projects.

Parlier earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University and obtained his juris doctor from North Carolina Central University. He is licensed through the North Carolina State Bar in addition to being a registered professional engineer and previously served as a member of the Engineering Board of Advisors at University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
