KCI provided comprehensive landscape architecture and engineering services to support the revitalization of Duvall Field Park.
To better align one of its largest recreational facilities with evolving community needs, the City of College Park initiated a $7.3 million renovation of Duvall Field Park. The project sought to transform seven acres of recreational space by enhancing amenities while improving both vehicular and pedestrian circulation throughout the park.
Led by our landscape architect team, KCI supported the City’s vision for a balanced mix of active and passive recreational spaces. Planned improvements include renovated athletic fields and ball diamonds, age-specific playgrounds, multi-purpose sports courts, a picnic pavilion, comfort stations, exercise stations, a bandshell with custom storage wings and a state-of-the-art lighting and sound system, specialty and area lighting throughout the park, and site-wide landscaping enhancements.
Our team prepared site, utility, and environmental design documents, including stormwater management, grading, erosion and sediment control, and hardscape/landscape/irrigation plans. The team refined the master plan, developed three conceptual design alternatives, and actively participated in public engagement by presenting to the community and City Council during the concept phase and at key milestones throughout design. KCI’s services also included surveying, geotechnical coordination, construction documents and specifications, cost estimating, permitting, bidding support, and construction administration. With these renovations in place, Duvall Field Park will provide a modern, accessible recreational destination that supports active lifestyles, community gatherings, and long-term sustainability for the City of College Park.
