KCI is pleased to work with Baltimore County Public Schools and Dundalk High School as part of P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College-High School), a program designed to provide students with the education and training needed for entry-level positions in a science, technology, engineering and mathematics related field.
The firm is partnering with Whiting-Turner Contracting Company and the Community College of Baltimore County to implement the program, which will initially be open to students at Dundalk High but may evolve to include other Baltimore County schools.

KCI is a longtime supporter of STEM education and student mentoring. Many of our professionals and senior managers partner with universities, professional associations, and local K-12 organizations to introduce, promote, and inspire consideration of engineering industry-related careers.
The P-TECH program is a logical extension of these established outreach efforts. The curriculum will lead enrolled students from ninth grade through completion of an associate’s degree, while simultaneously offering career development opportunities—all at no cost to the participant.

Beil, PE, D.WRE. “We’re excited to expand our existing relationships with Whiting-Turner, CCBC and Baltimore County Public Schools, all long-time KCI clients, and leverage our technical expertise and established internal training programs in order to guide students toward building promising and rewarding careers.”
Beginning in the 2018/2019 school year, KCI will provide 15 students with mentoring, followed by on-the-job learning and summer internships and then the early opportunity to apply for full-time, entry-level career opportunities upon completion of their degree. The firm will be offering participants hands-on training through site visits, technical and professional skill instruction, and other workplace learning experiences relevant to their individual career focuses.
