HLA Joins KCI to Expand Landscape Architecture and Planning Capabilities

KCI Technologies Inc., a multi-disciplined engineering firm with offices throughout the United States, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Hoehn Landscape Architecture LLC (HLA), a Baltimore, Maryland-based company specializing in landscape architecture and land planning.

HLA was founded in 2006 by principal Rick Hoehn, RLA, as a boutique firm focused on serving a wide range of geographies, markets and clients. The organization’s portfolio includes work in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Alabama, Mississippi and Texas, as well as a host of projects throughout Maryland. HLA has built a strong reputation for creative sustainable planning and landscape design solutions while balancing a site’s physical environment, local cultural context, and economic opportunities. The firm supports a wide client base responsible for planning, development, maintenance, upgrade and expansion of residential, health care, higher education, mixed-use, commercial, office/R&D/industrial, senior living, streetscapes, and parks and recreation facilities.

Rick and HLA are recognized among the leading planners in the Baltimore metropolitan area. Adding their leadership and capabilities to KCI expands the in-house services we can offer to our existing clients and helps propel the firm to a new level in the site planning and engineering market.

The project was also recognized as Project of the Year by the U.S. Green Building Council – New Jersey Chapter. Other organizations to recognize HLA include the American Society of Landscape Architects, Landscape Contractors Association, and American Building Council.

Joining KCI presents us with the opportunity to partner our talented group of landscape architects with their established team, and to provide our creative land design solutions across the firm’s expansive geographic footprint. We’re excited to serve new clients and offer new services to the organizations with whom we have long-standing relationships.
