Macoy to Lead KCI's Power Practice

July 20, 2011

Sparks, MD

KCI Technologies Inc., a multi-disciplined engineering firm with offices throughout the eastern United States, has promoted Robert C. Macoy to regional practice leader for the company’s Power Practice. Macoy has more than 16 years of industry experience with a variety of utility providers, including Baltimore Gas & Electric, PECO, Allegheny Power and Dominion Virginia Power. In his new role, he will be responsible for operations, business development, staff utilization and mentoring, as well as financial management of KCI’s Power Practice in Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

After joining KCI in 2007 as a project manager, Macoy began managing the firm’s multi-million dollar design services contract with Baltimore Gas & Electric. His design and management experience includes overhead and underground distribution, substations, utility pole and overhead clearance inspections, street light audits, and code compliance.

“Placing a talented, knowledgeable individual like Rob in charge of a healthy and successful practice within a fertile local and regional market creates the opportunity to maximize both personal and corporate growth,” said Vice President and Discipline Manager Darryl J. Kroeze, PE. “As leader of the Power Practice, I’m confident that Rob will continue providing the high level of service he is known for to our existing clients.”

Macoy earned an associate’s degree in engineering technology from the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology in 1995. He is a member of KCI’s 2012 class of emerging leaders.
