On Thursday, November 30, KCI was honored by the Baltimore Sun Media Group as the top workplace among large companies in the region and the top overall workplace, regardless of size, with regards to training. Later that night, the Baltimore Sun published a story about why KCI was selected as Top Workplace. The reporter specifically called out the company’s mission, opportunities for growth and a culture of transparency as leading factors supporting the accolades.
At KCI, our employee ownership model assists us in rewarding our staff for their hard work. Additionally, we have a leadership team who averages 25 years at KCI and who have genuine interest in making KCI a great place to work every day. We are proud, yet humbled, to receive this award because it recognizes, through our employees' views, our efforts to be a great company.

The firm was nominated for the honor by Transportation Project Engineer Tim Kassir, PE. Employees then participated in an online survey that provided results ranging from engagement to workplace environment. Even though this was KCI’s first time participating in the competition, once the scores were tallied, our incredible team emerged as top workplace among large firms.
The firm was also recognized as a leader in training. In the article, Water Resources Engineer Amanda Lafleur spoke about her experience in KCI’s in-house emerging leaders program. “You’re just invested and want to give back as much as you can because the company is providing all these opportunities for you in growth and personal development and leadership.”
